Barrow Elementary Groundhog Day Tree Planting

Barrow Elementary School needs your help!! We received a wonderful grant from the Georgia Forestry Commission to bring some shade to our playground with the planting of 40 trees!! 

On Saturday, February 2nd starting at 8am, we'll meet on the terrace for coffee and to get instructions from the experts - a team from New Urban Forestry will be on hand with equipment and know how to guide our day. Much like the groundhog, it may feel like the same thing over and over again as we dig holes, plant trees, mulch and repeat and repeat and repeat! Lunch will be provided. This project is open to adults and students in 5th grade or older (sorry, no one younger for safety reasons). We hope to be finished by 1pm. If you can't stay for the whole time, please note that in the comments section. Bring your work gloves, shovels, rakes and wheelbarrows if you have them.
