Every Spring the WIC program operates Fruite & Vegetable Fairs to educate pregnant and parenting women and their families about healthy food opportunities available to them. The Texas Hunger Initiative operates a table at these fairs to educate families about FREE nutritious meal programs available daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner both during the school year and the summer. Volunteers will talk with families and give them information on where these programs exist in their neighborhood.
These events are day-long so shifts of half day or full day are required. Training will be provided prior to the first day.
It would be helpful if volunteers could speak and read in Spanish.
