Austin HFH – Mitvah Day – Tree Planting Project 2015

Join us in greening up our Austin Habitat for Humanity neighborhood!

During the week of Earth Day, will be working in partnership with John Deere Landscape Division to get more than 60 trees planted in our Sendero Hills neighborhood.  John Deere has donated labor and all of the supplies!  Sendero Hills was completed in 2014 through the hard work of our thousands of volunteers and sponsors.  It is home to more than 40 of our families and nearly 20 of the homes still need their trees planted.

Volunteer Registration, Orientation, and Safety Training:

All volunteers are required to go to http://www.austinhabitat.org/register-to-volunteer  to complete our Volunteer Registration.  Be sure to print, fill out, and sign the Release of Liability . Please bring the release form with you to site when you volunteer.

Lunch

Lunch will be provided by Shalom Austin.  We will provide snacks and water.

Things to Remember:

  • All tools and training are provided.  Bring a re-suable water bottle.

  • We work rain or shine! If weather conditions are extreme or unsafe, we will notify you the morning of, to reschedule/cancel your project.

  • Carpooling is strongly recommended.

  • When bringing valuables, please leave them in your vehicles; there is no secure on-site storage for personal items.

It takes many hands and many hours to build our community, and our volunteers play a vital role in assisting with our mission of eliminating poverty housing in Austin. We’re grateful for your support and excited to see you soon!
