About

Keep Austin Playing is a citywide playdate created by the Austin Parks and Recreation Department to enrich, educate, and empower the Austin Community.  We aim to cultivate a lifestyle change towards healthy, positive behaviors and attitudes. 

Event Schedule:
8:00am - 10:00am  Table/Activity and Booth Setup
9:00am - 11:00am  Instructor led outdoor activity
10:00am - 2:00pm  Event doors open for City of Austin Parks and Recreation Summer Camps ONLY
2:00pm - 3:00pm  Break
1:00pm - 3:00pm  Instructor led outdoor activity
3:00pm - 7:00pm  Event Open to the Public
7:00pm - 8:00pm  Breakdown and Clean up

Event goals:
- Increase awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle by providing interactive play and informational materials to our youth and the citizens of Austin.
- Expose youth and the public to the myriad of organizations within the City of Austin that offer free or low cost programs designed to encourage a healthier lifestyle.
- Promote and celebrate National Parks and Recreation month.
- Provide a safe and interactive event for youth and citizens with an emphasis on health education, wellness and access to healthy food.
- Motivate participants to make positive health behavior changes.

Requirement Details
A copy of the City of Austin Liability Waiver must be signed by all volunteers. We will have copies available at the check-in table or you can print under "Resources". All volunteers must report to check-in table 15-20 minutes prior to their shift. Volunteers will be assigned to a staff Volunteer Coordinator to report to during the event.
