Thank you for your interest in Keep Austin Fed!
We are excited to meet you when you shadow a food run, where we pick up surplus food from a grocery store or restaurant and deliver it to a local community center or shelter.
We will also do a quick 30 minute orientation at 9:30am so that you are that much closer to becoming a volunteer!
Please register for the date that works best with your schedule and plan to meet a few other new volunteers in the process. **The training/orientation is held OUTDOORS so please pay attention to the weather and dress accordingly.**
Other steps to take on your way to becoming a Keep Austin Fed volunteer are:
1. Get your food handler's certificate in 2-3 hours at this link:
If you have any questions along the way or if you cannot find an opening for an orientation, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
|Parking Details||Arrive at the rear loading dock of Trader Joe's (2805 Bee Caves Rd, Austin, TX 78746) at 9:30a.m. where you will meet our Training Director - Adeana Reveles -- we will start with an orientation. We will then start the food run at 10:00am and work until the food is gone. We typically have anywhere from 500 to 2,000 pounds of food in crates on pallets, which will need to be separated into manageable loads for distribution to multiple locations.|
