Description

The Paired Academic Leader (PAL) role provides aspiring educators and youth development advocates with an opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to 

  • Assisting SALs with the creation and delivery of diverse learning tactics to teach STEM  concepts to youth through project-based lessons and hands-on activities 

  • Engaging with students as a mentor, tutor and role model 

  • Preparing materials and supplies required for program operation 

  • Maintaining student academic files showcasing work accomplished/completed 

  • Attending and supervising Saturday enrichment activities (average of one to two Saturdays per month) 

  • Supporting arrival and dismissal of students 

  • Supervising children who use RE transportation to and from RE and during RE organized off-site activities (e.g. field trips, social discovery, etc.) 

Requirement Details
Qualifications include but are not limited to Bonner or Adams Scholars or individuals with one school year of volunteer service at RE and a commitment of at least 8 hours per week with afternoon availability.
