If you’ve ever wanted to see how our Mobile Food Program works, you’re in luck! We have multiple volunteer slots at our Sea Mar Community Health Center food distributions. Volunteers are needed to help run our Sea Mar Mobile Food Program, a Farmer’s Market style volunteer opportunity, where volunteers distribute nutritious food to clients of the Sea-Mar health clinic. Duties Include:Setting up tents and tables, and filling them with food to be distributedHelping patients fill their bagsAssisting those who need help carrying their bags to their vehiclesBreaking down tents and tables and cleaning up the sitePrior to showing up, students MUST register for a session here.Dates | Times: Second Thursday or Fourth Friday of every month, 9am-12pm. If you are interested in working with Food Lifeline, please register for a session here. Requirements: Food Lifeline is an industrial food handling facility which means certain procedures need to be maintained to keep everyone safe. Prior to showing up, students MUST register for a session here.Please dress appropriately for working outdoors. Closed toed shoes, sun protection/ or rain gear and water are recommended. All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.Most volunteers will need to be able to lift between 25 and 40 pounds.We are looking for volunteers with great customer service skills.Spanish speakers encouraged!Please arrive 10 minutes early and plan to work the full session.Students are responsible for bringing their own Record of Civic Engagement Form to each opportunity they attend. Students can always pick up a form in our office (CUB LL48). You must add hours online here. Fill out the form completely and to the best of your ability.
