NATURE & PURPOSE OF SERVICE SITE:

LifeWay Network (LifeWay), founded in 2007 by Sister Joan S. Dawber of Sisters of Charity--Halifax, joins the global movement against human trafficking by providing safe housing for women who have been trafficked, education about trafficking to the general public, and a restorative community mentor-ship program. Our three-fold mission is at the heart of the anti-human trafficking movement's most urgent needs. To date, we have reached over 14,00 persons through our Education Program and have had the privilege of providing more than 100 women from 37 different countries with a holistic safe housing program.

Service Activity/Project:

USD volunteers will help with various activities during the 5K which will include preparation, registration, water station, food/first aid, time keepers, and clean up, social media/technology, and more.

PLEASE NOTE:

Volunteers should wear comfortable clothing, should bring snacks (and/or lunch), and water. Be prepared with hats and sunscreen dependent on the weather.
