What: Splash & Dash
A Splash and Dash is a fun and fast-growing sport that combines swimming and running. This short distance event is a great chance to try out your speed in two different activities!
When: Friday, August 14, 2015, 6:00pm
Where: Wilson Park Pool and Trail
Who: Children ages 7-15
Why: To test the waters of multisport competition! This youth event consists of a short (80-200 yards) swim followed by a short (1/2 - 1 mile) run.
Participants will be assigned a starting wave and waves will start every 10 minutes. Wave assignments will be based on participant age on day of race. Age groups are as follows:
7-8 years old: Swim 80 yards / Run a 1/2 mile
9-10 years old: Swim 120 yards / Run a 1/2 mile
11-12 years old: Swim 160 yards / Run 1 mile
13-15 years old: Swim 200 yards / Run 1 mile
Awards will be given to the Overall Boy, Overall Girl, and Top Finisher for each age. T-shirts and Certificates will be provided to all competitors!
Experience with racing events is helpful, but not required.
Must be able to work in a fast pace environment, outdoors in the heat, and enjoy supporting and cheering for kids!

-Instruct parents where they can park/watch
-Explain course to participants
-Instruct participants on where to find restrooms, transition, waiting area, etc.
|Will be stationed in the transition area between the pool and the run start.|
-Instruct participants on where/how to place their ideas in transition area
-Assist participants if needed with tying shoes
-Make sure all participant bib numbers are visible before leaving transition area
-Keep area clear of obstacles and groups come in/out
|-Assist with delivering heat sheets to Swim Timing Assistants|
-Ushering participants from waiting area to starting wave
-Providing timing company with heat sheets to compile results
-Assist with finisher certificates and awards
