Our House is seeking both full-time and part-time AmeriCorps members to serve in 3 different areas.
1) Employment Coach AmeriCorps serve in the Learning Center, our adult education and employment service program. Their primary purpose is to assist clients in findng and maintainng employment. Duties include providing one-on-one job search assistance and leading employment-skills workshops.
2) Child Development AmeriCorps serve in Little Learners, our licensed child development center for children under 5 years old. Their primary purpose is to ensure that children meet developmental benchmarks, such as the Kindergarten Readiness Checklist. Duties include lesson planning and special projects.
3) Youth Programs AmeriCorps serve in Our Club, our out-of-school-time program for school-age youth. Their primary purpose is to help our K-12 clients maintain and improve their grades. Duties include planning enrichment activities and providing tutoring both after school and on school-out days.
AmeriCorps engages Americans in service to benefit non-profits, schools and public agencies across the country. Members tackle pressing problems in areas of poverty.
Both part-time and full-time AmeriCorps will receive a living allowance of $6,212.50 over the course of their term of service and a $2,865 education award at the end of their successful term of service. Members are expected in serve full-time for 6 months or part-time for 1 year.
