Rendezvous @ the A, the living room of Mass Ave, for a morning of service and fun! We'll be drinking coffee, gardening, cleaning/repairing exhibits of German culture and the building's history, and cleaning/polishing the hand-chiseled, 122-year-old wood that adorns the grand staircase, ladies club and theatre. The Athenaeum is a National Historic Landmark. Built from 1894-1897 as a place for German heritage and lifestyle, today the Athenaeum houses a variety of businesses and non-profits and serves the city as a gathering place for theatre, wellness, dining and libations, and much more. The hard work of our volunteers helps preserve this structure so lovingly composed by German craftsmen and ensures the history and culture so long maintained herein remains relevant and accessible.
