LEAD Ask Me Ambassadors Needed

Open Opportunity

About

Friday, August 2's “jeans” day benefited the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and locally the NWA Out of the Darkness Walk to be held on Sunday, September 8 at Orchards Park in Bentonville.

This will be our third year to have a team and Stuart Scott has again accepted the team captain position.

We are kicking off a new awareness program that highlights “Ask Me” as a way for employees to learn how to get more involved or simply get more information on different company sponsored events and suicide awareness is our first approach.

September is national suicide prevention month and we are asking each ERG to choose 25 members to wear an Ask Me button to not only highlight signing up for the NWA Out of the Darkness Walk, but also for national suicide prevention month and help shed light on this stigmatized topic.

We won't ask anyone to share any personal information,  but would ask that anyone that stops them and inquires about the Ask Me button, they have some simple facts representing their specific ERG available to give them. Those will be provided directly from AFSP as soon as the 25 volunteer positions have been completed. Example:  the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, 1-800-273-TALK (8255) is a number that is available 24/7 for absolutely anyone to call for support or a personal struggle.
