Become a Crisis Center Volunteer!
Volunteers are the heart of the Arkansas Crisis Center!
Are you interested in making a difference for yourself and for your community? Can you remain calm in stressful situations? Can you listen and empathize with a person in need without passing judgment? Can you commit four hours a week or every other week? If you answered yes then we need you!
There are three areas of service for crisis volunteers: Phone Hotline, Crisis Chat Line/Texting and Communtiy Outreach Volunteers.
Phone Hotline and Crisis Chat/Texting volunteers receive 32 hours of training. Our training emphasizes active listening and covers a variety of topics a volunteer will encounter. Once training is completed , volunteers will have the skills necessary to respond to an individual in crisis.
Volunteers can live anywhere in Arkansas and can volunteer from home.
Contact Melissa Jackson at (479) 365-2142 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
