At Seedling, our mission is to support children challenged by parental incarceration with innovative, reasearch-driven, school-based mentoring. With Seedling, you will be mentoring a child one day a week during the child's lunch time. Mentors commit an average of 30-45 minutes each week for a school year to build a friendship with their youth while serving as a positive role model.
All prospective mentors must complete a Mentor Profile on our website, pass criminal background and reference checks, and attend a Mentor Orientation, which provides solid practical information about the mentoring process and the importance of your role prior to your introduction to a child.
Following the Mentor Orientation, you will be offered a bevy of continuing education opportunities to help you enhance in your service to your youth.
