Lincoln and Beacon 7-9AM Bike Count

Tuesday, September 10th from 7:00am to Thursday, September 12th, 2019 9:00am (MT)

About

The Treasure Valley Cycling Alliance (TVCA) is recruiting volunteers to collect data as part of a semi-annual effort to assess the number of riders in the county. The more data we gather on how cyclists actually use roads and pathways, the more we can improve the safety and enjoyment of the cycling experience in the Treasure Valley. This effort has already begun to help more than half a dozen other agencies and non-profit organizations guide their decisions around cycling.

The dates of the 2019 Fall bike count are Sept 10th-12th, and volunteers can choose to count bikes during two-hour shifts in the mornings or afternoons. It is very important that the data collection be consistent in order to be usable. Volunteers can choose Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday of that week to count but it is important to note when you sign up if 7AM-9AM or 4PM-6PM count.

As a volunteer for this project, we ask that you:

- Review the online presentation here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bz0j6-23xcxedGFfY0NtTV9SN2s/view?usp=sharing
- Use this data sheet to collect your bike counts: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-onD4i-l7iPdmpVODVwa1d4bTg/view?usp=sharing

- Show up at your assigned location, within one of the optional time windows, prepared to count bicycles. You must stay for the whole time in order for the data to be usable.

- Submit your results back to us by the end of the month, you will be given instruction on how to return the forms during training.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Thank you!
