Update of the UPDATE: Given the unpredictability of the forecast over the past few days and the fact that we have 100 cubic yards of mulch piled in the park, we're going to push on with this morning's workday. I recognize there is currently a light drizzle and the forecast shows scattered rain throughout the morning, but I think it's going to be on/off light rain that won't likely hinder our work.
That said, please tell your members that we would be happy to have their assistance, but completely understand if the conditions keep them from attending. There will be PPC leaders out there so if you show up we'l find good use of your time.
If you do attend, please dress for the conditions. It's a little chilly so consider long sleeves and if you have a rain coat, bring it!
UPDATE: With a close eye on the weather and predicted forecast, we intend to go forward as planned with tomorrow morning's workday. Meet us near the historic picnic tables and Tudor Cottage (1100 Kingsbury) around 9:00 a.m. and we'll get started. Check back here early tomorrow morning for an update!
Our good friends at Absolute Texxas will again be coming out to help in the park on Saturday, 11/7 at 9:00. We'll be working in the lower park, near the historic picnic tables and Tudor Cottage.
We've received about 100 cubic yards of mulch for the new trees and trails. You can expect work suitable for all ages and interests! We'll want to get the park looking in top shape before the colder winter air moves in.
PPC will provide all of the tools and gloves necessary for the day. We just ask that you wear close-toed shoes and clothes that might get a little dirty.
