Light The Night is the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's annual Walk and fundraising event and the nation's night to pay tribute and bring hope to people battling cancer. Friends, families and co-workers form fundraising teams and millions of consumers help by donating at retail outlets. These efforts culminate in inspirational and memorable evening Walks in nearly 200 communities across North America each fall. Participants carry illuminated lanterns -- white for survivors, red for supporters and gold in memory of loved ones lost to cancer. Anyone big, small, young or old can shine a light on the importance of finding cures and ensuring access to treatments for blood cancer patients.

The Hampton Roads Walk is scheduled for Saturday, October 24th in Downtown Norfolk from 5pm to 9pm and we are in need of individuals to assist with the event. Our largest need at the moment is for 60 individuals to volunteer as walk-route marshalls. Our beautiful 1.6mile walk route runs from the MacArthur Center Green, down Granby Ave, through Town Pointe Park, past the USS Wisconsin, through the East Freemason district until ending back at MacArthur Center Green. Walk route marshalls will need to be on site from 5:00pm until 8:00pm.
All volunteers receive a t-shirt and food as thank you for participating.
