Assist the staff by greeting visitors to the museum, promoting membership and special exhibtions, answering general questions and creating a welcoming and friendly environment for our visitors. These volunteers focus on specific collections or exhibits and facilitate hands-on activities with visitors. Specific duties include being able to answer questions and provide information on the exhibits in question. Volunteers are trained inthe content area of specific exhibits and may volunteer on weekdays, weekends, Tuesday evenings or special events.
All interested applicants must fill out a volunteer application and meet with the Volunteer & Internship Program Manager. A mandatory background check must be passed to be considered for volunteering. This is not a one time/drop in volunteer opportunity.
|Perks||Current volunteers receive a 10% discount in the museum store and can qualify for a free Family Membership ($75 value) if they complete 50 or more volunteer hours in a calendar year.|
|Parking Details||Complimentary parking is available in the Brackenridge Parking Garage on Avenue B.|
