Kitchen Helper-Lifelong's Chicken Soup Brigade

Open Opportunity

About

Our Mission: We remove barriers to health with relentless compassion so that no one faces illness and injustice alone.

Every week our Chicken Soup Brigade Client Care Advocates, Nutritionists, Chefs and Cooks, Warehouse and Distribution staff and regular weekly Volunteers work together to make, package, bag and deliver medically tailored meals and groceries to clients. We serve homebound seniors and people living with serious health conditions across King, Snohomish and Island County. The need is greater now than ever, we have doubled our meal production since last March to feed more and more people during this crisis.

Where you come in:
You can help people living with serious illnesses, and have a GREAT time doing it! Every meal in our Kitchen is made from scratch using whole ingredients. Volunteers in our Chicken Soup Brigade Kitchen help prepare and package meals for our clients; slicing, dicing and peeling is the name of the game and a hugely important part of cooking nutritionally specific 'food as medicine’ for our clients. The Kitchen Helper role is an opportunity to work on a team of fantastic people who love food and nutrition and, to do something very important for our community.

Shifts Available:

  • Monday-Friday: 9:30am-12pm, 1:30-4pm and 5:30-7:30pm
  • Saturday & Sunday: 10:30am-1pm and 2:30pm-5pm

If this sounds like the right volunteer position for you then we would love to have you join the team!
