MLK National Day of Service

Monday, January 18th, 2016 from 12:00pm to 4:00pm (CT)

About

MLK day is a service day where community residents strive to make a difference in their community. This federal holiday falls on Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday and challenges Americans to honor him through citizen action volunteer service.

If you'd like to be a part of this community service day in honor of MLK, we will be meeting at Tri Cycle Farms for a garden and neighborhood impact day. Various projects will take place including leaf and stick raking, trench and root digging, and rock and mulch transportation. A group of volunteers will serve by creating a "Stone Soup" for all of the service volunteers who contributed to this fruitful day. This delicious meal will be shared at 3:30.

We are excited to continue this tradition with our friends and neighbors to progress our garden development and make an impact in this community. None of this would be possible without passionate volunteers such as yourselves!

Please remember to park across the street at Trinity United Methodist Church and use the cross walk to walk over and meet by the big red barn.

Activities will be weather permitting so dress for weather and laborious activities. Water bottles are always recommended.
