The Fayetteville Public Schools’ Seed to Student program is looking for volunteers to host monthly Harvest of the Month taste tests this spring semester. Each month, a different seasonally available food gets the spotlight in cafeteria posters, recipe cards to send home to parents, and cafeteria taste tests during lunch.
We are looking for 4- 5 sophomore, junior or senior students to help with the monthly taste tests. Ideally, hosts will work in pairs to complete the taste tests. All 14 schools in the Fayetteville Public School System will get their tasting in the first two weeks of each month (Jan-May). The days of the week for taste tests can be flexible but hosts would need to be available from 9:00am-1:30pm on taste test days. Hosts are responsible for food prep (recipes provided), running the taste tests during the lunch times with school aged children, and work space clean up. Hosts will complete an orientation before their first taste test. No prior food service experience required!
To be considered for one of these positions you will need to meet the following requirements:
· Be able to work quickly and very independently (potentially with a partner)
· Be available at least 2 days a week for 2-3 weeks of each month from 9:00am-1:30pm
· Own a reliable car that has room for the taste test station. It will be packed into a large Rubbermaid-type tub and there will also be a small folding table. This will fit nicely into a compact car.
