Important Notice:
The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma understands there are growing fears about the impact of COVID-19 virus in central and western Oklahoma. Based upon the very nature of the work we do, the Regional Food Bank follows rigid federal and state food safety regulations each and every day.
That is why in abundance of concern for the safety of volunteers and staff, the Regional Food Bank is CANCELLING ALL volunteer shifts which include the following opportunities: Hope’s Kitchen, Volunteer Center, Protein Packaging Center, Court-Appointment Community Service Orientation, Senior Mobile Markets and the Moore Food and Resource Center for March 15th through March 21st.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Regional Food Bank and enable us to serve the one in six Oklahomans who are food insecure. Our staff is in daily communications with local, state and federal health agencies and the organization will evaluate future cancellations on a week-by-week basis.
Opportunity is NOT eligible for completion of court-appointed community service.
The Regional Food Bank places a priority on increasing the volume of fresh fruits and vegetables for Oklahomans with inconsistent access to healthy food. Senior Mobile Markets provide older Oklahomans on fixed-incomes with food assistance.
Volunteers like you assist with distributing fresh produce at locations around the Oklahoma City metro area. Volunteers meet Regional Food Bank employees at a designated outdoor location and help bag food and distribute to residents.
Volunteers must be at least 8 years old. Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Please note these markets are held outside, rain or shine!
