Battle Bend Park Planting and Mulching

Saturday, March 5th, 2016 from 9:00am to 12:00pm (CT)

About

We still need your help because we have only 23 adult volunteers.  Please, come by the park 9am-noon to help.  Don Gardner, consulting arborist, will be giving a tree talk from 11-noon, free to volunteers.

Come have fun and replant the irises that were saved from construction, plant a couple of new shrubs and native plants, mulch the large trees, and pick up trash.  All work to be done outside the fenced construction area.

Bring your water bottle, gloves, bow rakes (no leaf rakes), hand shovels, shovels and wheelbarrows if you can. Please, leave dogs at home.

Wear closed toes shoes (no sandals or flip flops) and dress according to the weather.  Children to be supervised at all times.  Event will continue as planned if it drizzles, but not if it rains.  Rain date to be announced later.
