About

Join community members as we work to maintain a 2-acre community garden located on park owned land.  The mission of Festival Beach Community Garden is to serve East Austin by providing members with nutritious food, making regular donations to local food pantries, and creating a sustainable urban-nature ecosystem that provides a habitat for wildlife and transforms an underutilized space into a beautiful and useful community area.

It's My Park Day volunteers will have the opportunity to work in the community garden on the following activities:
  • Mulch trees in the habitat area and orchard
  • Weed and mulch the swale
  • Plant host and native plants for butterflys in the rain garden/swale
  • Plant milkweed
  • Replenish herb garden with perrenial Central Texas plants
  • Weed and maintain gravel pathways
Please wear closed toe shoes and bring a water bottle.  No gardening experience needed.
