This It's My Park Day, the Waller Creek Conservancy is teaming up with Austin Parks Foundation for a CLEAN UP of our favorite urban stream--Waller Creek. The Conservancy's mission focuses on transforming and sustaining Austin’s Waller Creek creating an extraordinary urban place that connects, surprises, and inspires all of us. This includes an effort to connect 1.5 miles along the stream with a series of parks and trails through the heart of downtown from Lady Bird Lake all the way up to the University of Texas.

This spring we're going to focus on the southern reach of the creek near Lady Bird Lake. This area is beautiful with deeper waters, lounging turtles, ducks and herons and dense vegetation--but because this is the mouth of the stream trash and debris collects after rain events. To tackle this we’ll have a bank team and creek team; be prepared to get dirty, maybe a little wet and to develop a new relationship with your urban creek!

• Water bottle
• Sunscreen
• Closed toed shoes
• Rubber boots or waders [if you got them]
• Cloths you can get dirty--long-sleeved t-shirt and pants
