Volunteer at biggest competition for nursing home seniors

Held at the Rec Sports Center on campus, the Games for Life is the country's largest competitive event for nursing home and assisted living residents. On Saturday April 23rd over 500 Central Texas residents take part in events that test their athletic, creative and intellectual skills. These include balloon volleyball, wheelchair racing, discus, spelling and arts and crafts. This incredible event is now in its 33rd year and is one of the most keenly anticipated by the participants.

Volunteers will assist as judges for racing, throwing (discus and shotput), dominoes and volleyball.

Volunteers should be comfortable being on their feet for most of the day. Also comfortable in a vibrant (often noisy) atmosphere! Any volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
PerksAll volunteers will have access to the volunteer break area for snacks and lunch. Volunteers will also receive an official t-shirt and Games program.
