ODU Earth Day Celebration: Virginia BioBlitz at Back Bay Wildlife Refuge

Participate in ODU's Earth Day Celebration through the Virgina BioBlitz at Back Bay Wildlife Refuge in Virginia Beach on April 23, where you will have mutiple opportunites for engagement at the Refuge throughout the day. Opportunties include: an electrofishing demonstration and survey, nature walks, and bioblitizing where you will record plants and animals present on the Refuge. Virgina BioBlitz will be occuring in parks all across the state on April 23. 

The schedule of events is as follows:
7:30am: Check-in at North Mall (by Starbucks)
8am: Leave for Back Bay Wildlife Refuge
9am-Noon: Explore and Volunteer at Back Bay
       9am: Electrofishing demostration and survey with Chad Boyce, the Region 1 District Fisheries Biologist for
                the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries 
       10am-Noon: Back Bay's Natural History walk from Back Bay to the Atlantic Ocean with Reese Lukei
       9am-Noon: Bioblitz walks to document all the life found along the beach and bay
       Noon: Meet at the shuttle
                 Eat lunch at the False Cape State Park 
Return to campus for 2pm
