About
LaAmistad, meaning “the friendship” in Spanish, is a 501(c)3 non-profit which strives to prepare Latino students and families for success through academic and life enrichment programs. They provide services such as afterschool tutoring, parent education, English for Successful Living classes, and summer enrichment activities.
We will be assisting with the afterschool program located at their Metro City Church location, interacting with elementary school students, helping them with schoolwork, playing games and much more. Volunteers work alongside a staff teacher and parent liaison. No Spanish or education experience required.
Transportation: Please meet in Student Center East 304 (Student Civic Engagement Office) for transportation to the service site no later than 2:30pm.
