Mission Reach Clean Up

The recent rain events have left a significant amount of trash along the eight-mile segment of the Mission Reach Ecosystem Restoration and Recreation Project. Our crews are working on clearing the trash but we need your help to expedite efforts and bring the project back to its natural state.
Why is this important?
We all live in a watershed and our actions on land can have a negative effect on our waterways. Non-point source pollution (trash, oils, pet waste that hasn't been disposed properly throughout our watershed) is the biggest threat to the quality of the San Antonio River and it's a community-wide problem.

We are scheduling a post-storm clean up event this Saturday, April 30 and are in need of up to 25 volunteers ages 15 and older to clean up a portion of the Mission Reach project. All volunteers will be provided gloves, trash pickers, trash bags and water. RSVP will be required to help us determine the number of supplies and staff needed for this effort.

When: Saturday, April 30, 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Location: Volunteers will be e-mailed location info after they register.
