Description | Overview: VSA Texas is hosting a Side by Side opportunity for young adults with developmental disabilities ages 15 - 22 to work with professional artists in the radio broadcasting industry through classroom settings and hands-on experience. Students will be introduced to the responsibilities of a radio programmer and learn about interviewing, creating show topics, and recording for the radio.
“On-Air Radio Production” Volunteers are needed to assist the Instructor in the classroom by assisting the students as they learn radio skills, providing one to one support to the students and other duties as required. Volunteers will work within the small groups.

Requirements | Requirements: • Must be available to volunteer from 9:45am – 2:15pm. We can accommodate your schedule and are flexible. We do recommend that you commit to the full two-week time period to provide consistent contact with our students. • Must be age 18 or older. • Experience working with people with disabilities recommended. |
Perks | You get to learn the trade of Radio Broadcasting with hands on experience at KOOP Radio station. You also can use this time to fulfill field hours for your courses and it's just a lot of fun! |
