Delivering with Dignity

Thursday, June 11th, 2020 from 12:30pm to 3:00pm (PT)

Food Heroes will support the Delivering with Dignity program by picking up food packages from restaurants and delivering them to those most in need in our community. Your decision to give your time and effort will help ensure our most vulnerable families and seniors have access to high-quality meals and stay connected to the community, while staying safe at home.

A typical shift of volunteering as a Food Hero:
  • Confirmation and restaurant details will be sent the day prior to your shift.
  • Arrive at the restaurant by 12:30.
  • Expect 5 to 7 deliveries.
* Volunteers are determined daily based on client need, therefore your volunteer shift is not guaranteed.

Please review the information below for some important details all Food Heroes need to know:

All Food Heroes must meet the following criteria to volunteer:

Wondering if you should register to volunteer? Based on the CDC guidelines, we are asking you the following questions:
  1. Have you or someone in your household traveled to a country on the CDC’s Level 3 watch list in the last 30 days? At this time, these include China, Iran, Italy and South Korea. These may change. See the CDC’s guidelines for the most up-to-date list.

  2. Have you been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19? See the CDC’s risk assessment guidance.

  3. Do you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19? Symptoms can include a fever, cough or shortness of breath. See the CDC’s symptom information.

If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, we ask you not to register. We are doing all we can to align with best practices and keep our community healthy.
