Food Pantry Help Needed Today!

Open Opportunity

About

Looking for a way to support your community during these uncertain times? Now more than ever, YOU can make a difference at the Twin Cities' largest food pantry! Our opportunities welcome everyone, don’t require experience, and are of course fun!

Open Opportunities (Ages 12+):

  •  Ensure only the best, most fresh items reach our pantry's shelves by sorting through food donations.
  • Assist our indoor shopping (Mondays - Thursdays) model by welcoming participants to our pantry, explaining our process and responding to participant questions, and overall helping us promote a positive shopping experience for our participants.
  • Assist our drive-thru operations (Fridays Only) by checking-in visitors, taking their food orders, and helping load their groceries into their vehicles.
  • Transport fresh and healthy food straight to our communities by assisting our Mobile Pantry distributions.

In this role you will learn new skills, make a difference and see your impact firsthand, as well as gain insight into how food and housing insecurity affects your community.

All volunteers ages 18 and older must complete a criminal background check prior to volunteering.

Shifts are typically three hours in length and begin every weekday at 8:15am, 11:15am, or 2:15pm

Get started today! Fill out our application at http://veap.org/become-a-volunteer/ or for more information contact our volunteer department at volunteerdept@veap.org or 952.955.8323. Adults are asked to attend an orientation before officially volunteering while youth under 18 can sign-up for shifts right away within in the pantry.
