About

Volunteer Shift: Varies, please report hours when creating your impact!

We realize that not all individuals in our community may feel comfortable coming together in small groups to participate in Rivers Alive this year. In order to create a way for you to participate safely and at your comfort level you can sign up your own "Independent Cleanup Opportunity." Identify a location in your neighborhood (maybe a street, park, etc.). that you would like to clean up, register through this site, and join in on the cleanup fun. Rivers Alive will keep track of site submissions to ensure that there aren't duplicate cleanups happening in our community. Volunteers who choose this opportunity will need to dispose of their own trash, but will be expected to follow all social distancing and mask protocols for this year's event.

Project Description
  • Varies based on where you chose to do your cleanup
  • Volunteers should wear close-toed shoes or boots and long pants.
  • Volunteers are encouraged to bring bug spray and/or sunscreen...basically be ready to be outdoors!
COVID-19 Required Protocol:
  • All volunteers should take their temperature prior to showing up to volunteer.
    • If your temperature is over 100.4 on the morning of the event, please DO NOT show up to volunteer.
  • Masks are required for ALL Volunteers at all times during the cleanup.
  • Volunteers will be asked to maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from one another.
  • Volunteers will be asked to NOT share tools - all tools will be sanitized prior to use.
    • Please feel free to bring your own tools if you have them (loppers, hand pruners, gloves, litter grabber).
    • Volunteers will be asked to assist with sanitizing tools following the cleanup.
  • If you believe that you or someone in your household has been exposed to COVID-19, please DO NOT show up to volunteer.

Registration Notes
Children under 18 should be registered as a minor by their parent/guardian. To do this, select "Add Attendee" at the top of the registration page BEFORE submitting your registration form. Check the box that says "Check if minor" and you will then be prompted to enter a first and last name (you do not need to enter an email for a minor).

We are not able to accommodate large group registrations. If you have a group that would like to volunteer at the same site, each individual must separately register through Engage Georgia.
