Good Work Austin's Community Kitchen

The GWA Community Kitchen is an ongoing program providing locally made food using locally grown ingredients to communities in need.

Good Work Austin (GWA) provides support for local employers who want to do the right thing for their workers, the economy, and the environment. We help Austin's restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and other food and beverage businesses raise wages, provide better benefits, and improve working conditions.

Our GWA Community Kitchen Program provides thousands of meals per week. These meals are prepared with care by our partner restaurants and distributed to members of our community facing food insecurity. This program is responding to Austin's unprecedented need for food accessibility and allows for our Austin-based businesses to survive and evolve.

Your donation expands our capacity to produce meals and support local small businesses.

Our long term goal is to revolutionize the way Austin feeds its most insecure populations. Healthy, nutritious, locally sourced meals provided by the GWA Community Kitchen are good for restaurants, the city of Austin, local farms, and our clients.

GWA member restaurants participating in these programs sign the One Fair Wage pledge, paying employees a minimum hourly wage of $15. They also pledge to source their ingredients from local farms and businesses, and use compostable or recyclable packing materials.
