"Antiracist Solutions and Strategies" - MLK Day of Service 2021 (Virtual)

Monday, January 18th, 2021 from 2:45pm to 4:00pm (CT)
This has ended. If you attended, let the organizer know by recording your Impact!

Hosted by Kye Harris' 21

The "Antiracist Solutions and Strategies" workshop hopes to collectively come up with action plans for individuals, collectives, and for institutions to put into place to combat discrimination on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, etc. I hope to start with a brief biography of MLK and shift into what antiracism strategies and solutions are defined as, using scholarly articles as evidence. Next, we'll discuss some other prominent leaders, and movements and protests that were successful and maybe some that weren't, so that people can get an idea of what has worked and what maybe hasn't. Hopefully, this will inspire all participants to see that they can be apart of change themselves. Lastly, as a group we will brainstorm some discriminatory problems the exist and come up with solutions that individuals, collectives and institutions can do.
