I’ve found a great indoor project since Sunday’s weather is looking a little iffy (60% chance of rain).

This group will make planners for our teens and young adults! We currently have 33 kids who are between the ages of 15 and 20 years old, and since most of the youth referred to us are in this age group, we’re always working on teaching life skills to help them become successful, independent adults. One way of doing this is providing them with planners so they can better manage their work, school, and personal schedules (such as medical appointments and court dates). However, we are all out of the planners that have been donated to us.

This is where your group will help!

I will provide monthly templates for May – December 2013 as well as enough composition books to make 50 planners (one for each kid and some extras to have on hand since our census can change so suddenly). We would like to have the month glued on a sheet in the composition book and then have a page for each day (Sat/Sun will share a page) following the month. With 200 pages, we should be able to finish out the year.

Construction paper and scrapbooking paper will also be provided to decorate the covers so that they stand out amongst their other items.

This should be a fun project that will make a big difference for our teens/young adults.

Since the project has been updated, volunteers will now need to arrive at Building A and call my cell phone (512-828-1721).

Thanks so much! See you Sunday!
