Role brief: 

The Blog Content Creator/Marketing Copywriter is a virtual volunteer position that works directly with the Marketing Manager. The individual will be responsible for creating strong content by writing blog post copy aligned to our Marketing Plan with the goal of rallying and engaging donors to support our Haiti Now. 


  • Create four blog posts per month based on our marketing content calendar to drive donor engagement, subscribers, and leads (key metrics). 

  • Collaborate with the Marketing and SEO Teams to produce content that meets the needs of our audience and donors

  • Plan and maintain a marketing content calendar for blog posts

  • Interview the founder of Haiti Now and volunteers for program updates, content and new ideas for blog posts

  • Write marketing copy that is aligned with Haiti Now’s messaging, brand, and SEO 

  • Research key topics from existing marketing materials and research papers

  • Suggest opportunities and content for growing our community and engagement

  • Provide weekly updates during our virtual Marketing Team meeting 

  • Check the work for errors thoroughly and edit each post draft and eliminate awkward wording, misspellings, inaccuracies, inconsistencies and grammatical errors



  • Bachelor’s degree with experience in Marketing preferred

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in blog content creation or copywriting preferred

  • Mastery of the English language, grammar and style

  • Demonstrated ability to write successful blog content: clear, precise and compelling writing skills (Samples requested)


Other Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 volunteer hours per week 

  • PMs Minimum volunteer hours 10 hrs per week for at least 6 months

  • Must be responsive to all messages within 24 hours

  • Excellent time management & communication skills in English; follow up and follow through approach

  • Highly collaborative style; experience working in a virtual environment highly preferred

  • Proficiency with Google Suite Apps such as Drive, Sheets, etc. and familiarity with Trello & Slack 

  • Enjoys creating & implementing initiatives

  • Reliable internet connection a must 

  • Detail-oriented, organized, consistently communicates, and deadline-driven

  • Motivated self starter and entrepreneurial  with the ability to work independently with purpose and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
