About

Schoolyard Roots is a non-profit that focuses on experiential learning through gardening in local elementary schools. By incorporating math and science curriculum into garden lessons, Schoolyard Roots aims to increase access to fresh and sustainable food in Tuscaloosa. Volunteers will be performing various gardening maintenance tasks including weeding and painting, while learning about local flora and fauna!

Volunteers should wear closed-toed shoes and clothing appropriate for working outdoors near elementary-age children.

Masks are required at all times while indoors and outdoors when it is not possible to maintain 3 feet distance between volunteers.
