Austin Arbor Day Celebration

Saturday, October 22nd, 2016 from 9:00am to 1:00pm (CT)


To celebrate Austin’s Arbor Day and the City of Austin’s 25th year as a Tree City USA community, the City of Austin Urban Forestry Program will host a tree planting and family friendly Arbor Day event at the Southern Walnut Creek Trail Entrance located at the Austin Tennis Center.  Volunteers will plant 100 native trees along the newly built trail.  There will be a brief ceremony to read the Arbor Day Proclamation, tabling events, DJ music, and refreshments.  Families are encouraged to attend from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm to participate in tree related activities including tree planting, educational booths and seed ball making.

Requirement Details
Please come dressed to work in the dirt with closed toe shoes, and long pants. Sunglasses and a hat could also be helpful depending on the weather.
We will be handing out t-shirts, snacks and refreshments as supplies last.
Parking Details
Park at the Austin Tennis Center as available. Street parking, and parking at Gus Garcia Young Men's Leadership Academy will also be available.
