Volunteer Department Assistance

Next date is Thursday, May 19th, 2022 from 10:00am to 12:00pm (ET)

The Food Bank of Northeast Georgia Volunteer Department functions on a needs-basis for our distribution program. As needs change and evolve on an almost daily occasion, the Volunteer Department assists the Food Bank in any area of need. Volunteers who sign for this position are offering any assistance that the Volunteer Department needs.

Some examples of potential projects include:
  • Bagging product for the Senior Brown Bag Program
  • Bagging product for Mobile Pantry distributions
  • Building orders and stocking product on pallets
  • Processing donations
  • Moving product
  • Setting up for events
Volunteers are required to wear close-toed shoes for this event. Tasks could require standing for the duration of the event, lifting up to 35 pounds, and repetitive motions.

As a reminder, we do not offer community service hours for volunteer work.

First-time volunteers should always review our Volunteer Page to review any updates and Covid-19 regulations, as well as to read through our Volunteer Handbook, which covers instructions for events, dress code, programs, and much more.
