Little Libraries for Austin by LawnStarter - Be The Change Day!

Saturday, October 1st, 2016 from 9:15am to 1:00pm (CT)

About

For Be The Change Day, LawnStarter is putting on a Little Free Library Volunteer Day at Patterson park in East Austin! We will be sanding, painting, and decorating parts that will be assembled into Little Libraries after the event, please also bring your old books to donate!

Little Free Libraries are shared neighborhood book-exchanges - you can take a book, give a book, or both. They are the perfect way to build our communities by promoting literacy and sharing between neighbors and friends. You can benefit hundreds of families with just one library by participating in painting, decorating, and building them!

The libraries are sponsored in part by LawnStarter, who is helping to build them and supply the books in order to get 500+ libraries setup this year. LawnStarter is a technology startup that is based in Austin and is now in 15 cities. The Program Director, employees, and C-Suite  will be in attendance to speak about what this initiative means to us.

For students this is a fantastic opportunity to make potential job connections in tech and learn some leading-edge branding approaches while having a significant impact on our local communities. LawnStarter employs 30-50 interns every year and is planning to grow even more!
