About

Thank you for volunteering to plant shortleaf pine trees at the Kreher Preserve and Nature Center. We will be planting trees rain or shine. We will not plant trees if there is a threat of severe weather. Together, we will learn about forestry practices, Alabama’s native flora, and how to properly plant trees while enjoying the beautiful outdoor scenery and wildlife of the preserve.

Work will be physical. You should wear long pants and closed-toed shoes, and bring your water bottle. Additionally, please bring gloves and a shovel if you have themPlease sign up below so we can ensure we have enough extra tools & gloves. Waivers will be signed on-site. If you need transportation to the event, please contact the Office of Sustainability about a shuttle to the KPNC.

Meet at the parking lot at the Kreher Preserve and Nature Center at 2:30 PM. If you are running late, please follow the path or road to the pavilion. There will be directional signs from there to the planting site.  If we need to change to the rain date (February 22nd at the same time) we will notify you on January 24th through GivePulse.
