Internship Overview:
The Information Technology Student Intern Volunteer will use skills acquired in school to assist the Information Technology Support Manager (ITSM) with providing Tier One technical support of hardware, applications, operating systems, and networking. Individuals selected for this internship will develop a broad understanding of various technologies to effectively support New Vista's end-users and clients. Additionally, Interns will have opportunities to analyze and research technology solutions to address end-user challenges, recommend possible solutions, and carry out approved solutions under the direction of the ITSM. Individuals in this role will utilize remote tools and in-person troubleshooting to provide routine and non-routine support for technologies used by New Vista. Individuals selected for this position will travel to different offices in the region and must have their own mode of transportation.
Interns in this position will utilize critical thinking skills, creative problem solving, and practical communication skills to complete detail-oriented tasks and assignments that align with the IT Department and the student's practicum or internship course's academic requirements.
Requirements and Additional Information:
Suitable for Students Pursuing a(n): Associates, Bachelors, or Masters Degree
Suitable for Students Studying: Computer Networking Security & Electronics, Computer Sciences, Cyber Systems Technology, Information Communication Technology, Information Technology, or other similar programs
Location: Fayette County, ability to travel within the New Vista region is a must.
Hours of Opportunity: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; Monday through Friday

Students must also complete and pass the following:

Additionally, interns will be required to attend a two-day orientation. This orientation will fall on a Monday and is scheduled with New Vista's Human Resources department upon completion and a successful review of all required materials. Students who are missing academic obligations such as courses or mandatory meetings will be provided with an excused absence note.
Access to New Vista's Relias learning platform, with over 800 trainings ranging a wide variety of topics.
Access to live New Vista hosted trainings spanning a variety of community mental health center topics.
Participation in certain New Vista events such as wellness fairs.
Access to the Employee Assistance Program.
