New Volunteer Orientation - DRIPPING SPRINGS location only. 2965 FM 165 Dripping Springs, TX 78620
When registering for this orientation, you will be prompted to watch a volunteer training video and answer questions. This step is MANDATORY before you can complete registration and attend the orientation. In the video, you’ll learn about PAWS, our policies, routines, and volunteer opportunities.
During orientation, you’ll receive a tour of the shelter and learn how to care for the animals. Make sure to also read the entire Volunteer Handbook before attending orientation - handbook is linked in the "Documents" tab of this event page. After orientation, you'll be able to sign up for events and begin volunteering! 😁

We are not able to accept volunteers under the age of 12.

Youth ages 12 - 15 must have a parent or legal guardian (age 18+) with them at all times while volunteering. Only the parent/guardian may enter dog kennels, hold leashes, and handle dogs. The parent/guardian must attend volunteer orientation and sign a waiver.

Youth ages 16 - 18 can volunteer without parental supervision. However a parent/guardian must attend volunteer orientation and sign a waiver.

- Youth ages 12-18 must also fill out the volunteer application and register for orientation with their own GivePulse account (with parent assistance if needed).
If you are waitlisted you will be notified if space becomes available! If you are coming as a family or pair and there is not enough room for everyone, please sign up for an orientation that is not full, so we are able to accommodate everyone comfortably.

Wondering if you should register to volunteer? Based on the CDC guidelines, we are asking you the following questions:
- Have you been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19? See the CDC’s risk assessment guidance.
- Do you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19? Symptoms can include a cough or shortness of breath or at least two of the following: Fever, Chills, Repeated shaking with chills, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat, New loss of taste or smell. See the CDC’s symptom information.
