¡La Causa Sigue! The Cause Continues!

The UTSA Marches Committee, in partnership with the Cesar E. Chavez Legacy and Education Foundation, invites everyone to the 26th annual Cesar E. Chavez March for Justice.

This year's Grand Marshals are Erika Prosper Nirenberg, First Lady of San Antonio, and Paul Chavez, son of Cesar Chavez and President and CEO of the Cesar Chavez Foundation.

This event is in conjunction with the "Yes We CAN" food donation drive with the San Antonio Food Bank. Guests are encouraged to bring canned food items with them to the march to deposit cans into barrels before the march begins.

March for Justice Schedule of Events

8:00 am UTSA Westside Community Center Breakfast Kickoff REGISTER HERE

8:30 a.m.: DJ Plata kicks off the morning with San Antonio music and a morning rally. Complimentary coffee and refreshments will be provided

10 a.m.: March steps off at the intersection of Guadalupe & Brazos streets and ends at Hemisfair Plaza.

12 -3 p.m.: Afternoon program, music and entertainment with performances by Little Joe y La Familia, Super Mariachi and award-winning musicians.

Requirement Details
Wondering if you should register to volunteer? Based on the CDC guidelines, we are asking you the following questions:
  1. Have you been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19? See the CDC’s risk assessment guidance.

  2. Do you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19? Symptoms can include a cough or shortness of breath or at least two of the following: Fever, Chills, Repeated shaking with chills, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat, New loss of taste or smell. See the CDC’s symptom information.

If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, we ask you not to register. We are doing all we can to align with best practices and keep our community healthy.
Perks
Complimentary coffee and refreshments will be provided at the morning kickoff. Live music will be available at the morning kickoff and the celebration at Hemisfair park.
Parking Details
Participants are welcome to park in Lots B and C of the Alamodome.
*Two UTSA shuttles will depart at 8:15 a.m. from 1604 campus to drop off UTSA students to the march's starting point.*
*UTSA shuttles will depart from the Oval located in front of the North Paseo Building*
VIA buses will begin dropping off riders to the march's starting point from 8:00 a.m. - 9:45 a.m.
Buses will return participants to the Alamodome from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
