About
Access to quality, age-appropriate books is key to developing reading skills. Reading proficiently by the end of 3rd grade is one of the most important predictors of graduating from high school. That's why United Way and the United Partnership are committed to improving literacy rates in our neighborhoods and are working to bring 10 Little Neighborhood Libraries to Weber and Box Elder Counties. Little Neighborhood Libraries are small, hand-built libraries that offer a free book exchange for local students and individuals in the community. And we need your help to build them!
Join us on May 13th as the construction instructors and students in the YouthBuild program teach and walk us through how to build libraries to be installed throughout the community. No expertise is needed and all tools and supplies are provided by YouthBuild and Wheelwright Lumber. Choose from a morning or afternoon shift and enjoy a free lunch and t-shirt.
