Create With Kindness Event

Volunteers must be 16 and older to attend volunteer events at the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia. 

This event serves in providing the personal touches to our distributions and adding a moment of love, positivity, and cheer with the food we distribute. Volunteers will assist in ensuring that all clients for specific events receive their notes, decorated bags, celebratory gifts, and/or similar items.

Responsibilities:

Volunteer tasks rotate based on need. The volunteer event may include activities such as:

• Drawing and decorating paper bags for seniors to celebrate life, seasons, and holidays.
• Writing loving, encouraging, or fun notes for children in our Food2Kids program.
• Building bags of candy and seasonal celebratory gifts to provide clients to celebrate seasons and holidays.
• Stuffing and sealing envelopes
• Assisting in bagging small orders for clients following directions given by staff.

As a reminder, we do not offer community service hours for volunteer work.

First-time volunteers should always review our Volunteer Page to review any updates and Covid-19 regulations, as well as to read through our Volunteer Handbook, which covers instructions for events, dress code, programs, and submit our New Volunteer Survey.

Closed-toe shoes are required to attend. Upon arrival, please visit the main lobby through the glass door. Enter the door labeled "Volunteer Department" and you will be greeted by Volunteer Department staff.
