You will help us prepare for the coming week by reclaiming produce and bread from donated food that would otherwise be composted. You will help unload banana boxes of produce donated by a local store. We sort out that good from the bad and group like things together. We chop food for sauteing or soups and get that started. Then we wash and prep the fresh food for storage. We clean-up and head on our way. Clients are invited to help as well.
We need someone to pickup food at 7:00am. If you have a truck and want to do this periodically, just let us know. We also need someone to drive compost to a local store for composting in their barrels. If you could do this at 11:30, please let us know.
|Parking Details||Church is behind the Renaissance (vendor) Market on the stub of 23rd Street just beside the UT-OP food trailer court. Look for the ministry truck in the alley behind the Co-op Market (convenience store) and the church. If you're early, just wait for the truck. If you're late, we enter through the brown/gray wooden door to the church in the alley. If you're late, knock on the door loudly. There is unfortunately no free parking in the area, but there is $5 parking on the North side of the church.|
