Sally Kate Winters Family Home

A private, nonprofit organization, offering various social services and family support to youth in need. Since the inception of the Sally Kate Memorial Children’s Home in 1990, the mission of the program has been to offer the gift of humanity, love, and respect to children traumatized by child abuse and neglect. Winters offers four unique programs that operate on a referral and voluntary basis—Emergency Shelter Program, Runaway & Homeless Youth Program, Transitional Living Program, and the Children’s Advocacy Center.

An initial FREE APPLICATION is REQUIRED and then once accepted, an interview to see which area you fit in, then a fingerprinting process of $20 is due. Please click the website link for the application and any more questions. 

Group volunteering can be done on the weekend, just complete the same above process.

Volunteers' tasks are assessed by each volunteer and their interests and can consist of:

• Office work (organizing and filing)
• Socializing with the residents/youth
• Focusing on one of the four program areas and helping the resident reach their goal outcomes
