Join Friends of Copperfield Nature Trails, a Keep Austin Beautiful Creek adopter, for a trail and park visit while picking up trash. We'll also discuss our invasive plant removal project and identify a few of the native and invasive plants growing in the area.
We are excited to welcome you to this project where a Site Leader will meet you with supplies to collect litter and recycling while ensuring all safety precautions are addressed. Here are important things to know:
What to bring: Closed toe shoes, a FULL water bottle, snack, a positive attitude and willingness to work. Recommend hat, sunscreen, pants and long sleeves. We'll provide some pick up tools, trash bags, and gloves, but you are of course welcome to supply your own. Where to park: You will be able to park along Blakeney Lane and adjacent streets. Please do not bring or leave valuables in your car. Parking will be free. Where to meet: We will meet at the Blakeney pond Copperfield Walnut Creek Trail entrance at 1416 Blakeney Ln. When should I arrive: Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to allow for time to find parking and our meeting location. We will begin promptly at 9:00 am and end promptly at 11 AM. We ask you plan to volunteer for at least one hour during this two hour shift.
Wondering if you should register to volunteer? Based on the CDC guidelines, we are asking you the following questions:
- Have you been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19? See the CDC’s risk assessment guidance.
- Do you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19? Symptoms can include a cough or shortness of breath or at least two of the following: Fever, Chills, Repeated shaking with chills, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat, New loss of taste or smell. See the CDC’s symptom information.
